The Day Before the Move

This is when you'll start to see that all your planning and hard work has paid off. Nearly everything that can be packed, will be packed, and you should be able to relax a little. However, there are still a few jobs to be done:

• Confirm that there's a parking area for the removal vehicle or hire van.
• Provide the removal company with any instructions on how to find your home and how you can be contacted if they get lost.
• Confirm the arrangements for your children and pets if they're being looked after by friends or relatives.
• Check the arrangements for collecting the keys for your new home.
• Disconnect your satellite dish if you're taking it with you.
• Disconnect your washing machine and fit transit bolts.
• Take down curtains and blinds.
• Pack any remaining items that you've wanted to keep out until the last minute.
• Make sure that you have your Essentials Kit packed.
• Finish cleaning the house.
• Have a final check to see whether you've forgotten anything.
• Get a good nights sleep.
