Villa te Goes

Description

The villa is located on the banks of Goese Lake, an artificial lake in the polder between the town of Goes and village of Wilhelminadorp, Netherlands.

The programme of requirements stipulated relatively many functions at ground level: living room, kitchen, entrance, and garages, as well as two bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The programme for the upper floors was comparatively modest: two bedrooms, bathroom, and a small billiards room with fireplace.

The villa borders the most northerly edge of the plot. On the one hand this allows a direct view across the open fields; on the other it maximises the size of the south garden and the distance to the "farmhouse-style" houses.

The building programme is contained in two separate volumes, each with its own height, own architecture, and own materials.
