You can either buy a first aid kit or assemble a kit yourself, storing the items in a clean and easily identifiable waterproof container. It is also advisable to keep a portable kit handy to take to the site of an emergency.

- Blunt-ended scissors
- Cotton wool (never place directly on a wound)
- Tweezers
- Tubular bandage
- Adhesive tape
Portable Kit Additions
- Torch
- Blanket, survival bag
- Whistle (to attract attention)
- Plastic face shield or pocket facemask
- Notepad and pencil
Make sure that you check your kit regularly and to restock items that have been used or replace items that are out of date.
